POSITION OVERVIEW :
The Lead Electrical Engineer is responsible for leading the electrical engineering function of Worley personnel and subcontractors on the El Dabaa nuclear project, where Worley acts as Owner’s Engineer.
The Lead Electrical Engineer provides direct interface with the Owner and assists in the training of Owner’s engineering and technical staff.
SPECIFIC TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Organizes and leads the electrical engineering team to ensure the project is effectively and technically developed to meet the contract and standards requirements, local and international codes, timeline and budget during all project phases design, installation, testing and commissioning.
Ensures electrical engineering team is correctly indoctrinated in HES standards
Responsible for providing the necessary technical support to the project manager and project management team
Represents electrical engineering at internal & external meetings on the project
Establishes electrical engineering resource requirements and sources the necessary resources for the project
Ensures that project electrical engineering systems and procedures are developed and rolled out for the project and work is performed in accordance with Worley & project internal processes and procedures
Ensures effective coordination with other project engineering disciplines
Ensures electrical engineering team is correctly reporting
Reports on project technical scope performance against the baseline plan
Responsible for ensuring that no technical changes are implement without prior approval as per EPC contract procedure and regulatory requirements
Ensures that the technical team and any 3rd party subcontractors adhere to the overall project execution plan and project quality plan
Ensures that all identified sub-contractors are suitably pre-qualified for delivery to the project
Organizes and manages review of design documents and calculations pertaining to vendor design
Ensures that review of Design and Safety analysis provided by electrical engineering team is correct according international and local regulation and standards
Ensure participation in safety and hazard assessments for electrical processes and systems
Monitors construction of NPP’s and associated systems; develops comments pertaining to quality and non-compliance with design
Reviews as-built design drawings and modification of electrical systems
Reviews, comments and prepares drafts of client correspondence pertaining to electrical systems and processes

PREFERRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE :
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is a must.
Strong technical skills; 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering on large scale projects or in nuclear power plant operation and management of multi-
cultural teams. Extensive nuclear experience required. Power transmission experience is a plus
Recognized as having a specialized depth or breadth of expertise
Excellent report writing skills

Ability to manage

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are essential, understanding of Russian is a plus
Sound engineering background
