Required Skills

BASIC CRITERIA Experience (Min requirement) Minimum 7 to 10 years’ experience in industrial food, pharmaceutical, ingredient or flavor industry

Minimum 4 years in the specific field of expertise Academic Qualification / Background Essential Minimum entry level is a BS degree in Food Science, Chemistry & Biochemistry or related disciplines.

Passed IFF internal sensory test & discriminative organoleptic skills Preferred Master & / or PhD preferred Knowledgeable in food safety, raw materials, food regulations, sanitation & production processes Average Time span at this level 4 -

6 years (dependent on individual and progress) Food Technologist Career Ladder Application Technologist Level II

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES ROLE SCOPE Established application & project planning ability utilizing creativity, innovation & presentation skills to provide best in class support to IFF clients.

Refining problem solving ability with confidence to liaise directly with customers (when needed). Constantly evolving knowledge of ingredients, customer bases, processes & flavor interactions in associated category applications.

1. PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Projects : Primarily medium potential (guideline; may vary based on business need)

  • Customer : Star & Strategic accounts / Aligned to Global
  • Independently work on star & strategic accounts with medium project potential. Aligned global account / s
  • Able to select & recommend appropriate flavor solution in compliance with client profile, legal, cost & stability requirements.
  • Know well the end product production process
  • Visit clients and present flavor solutions and new technologies
  • Partners Senior Food Technologists on regional / global briefs
  • Work in close collaboration with Sales / Marketing, Flavorists, S&CI, GRA & other departments to support project execution
  • Participate in category initiatives & / or new concept generation
  • Established time & project management skills
  • Engage management to obtain appropriate resource or expertise
  • Develop & improve application formulations using knowledge of industrial standards, country specific & client requirements.
  • Build clear knowledge of customer and competitive brands
  • 2.TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE, IFF TOOLS & TALENT DEVELOPMENT

  • Recipe ingredients / raw materials knowledge and function established
  • Develop & improve application formulations using knowledge of industrial standards, country specific & client requirements.
  • Build clear knowledge of customer and competitive brands
  • Work with plant to complete the successful scale up production, provide solutions with QA, QC when necessary
  • Maintain & continuously renovate application specific recipe database
  • Develops applications to maximize flavor performance
  • Provide flavor driven solutions utilizing creative problem solving skills
  • Review, re-new & renovate Flavor Bank in-line with established metrics
  • Build flavor attribute / language knowledge & articulate with others in the team / on projects
  • Proficient in IFFMan & recipe database
  • Established creativity, innovation & presentation skills
  • Share knowledge with the team & provide guidance to Trainee, Junior & Associate food technologist
  • STRATEGY & BUSINESS KNOWLEDGE
  • Established interdepartmental networks / relationships (outside own functional area)
  • Strong relationship with strategic / star customers and related categories
  • Develop relationship with aligned Global customers
  • Support & Implement the C&A strategy in Star & Strategic projects
