For the Siemens Mobility setup in Egypt we are looking for a System Construction Manager to support our growing business :

The Systems Construction Manager is responsible for assuring Project site works (Systems Installation, Testing and Commissioning) are completed on time, within budget and as per the company quality requirements.

Reporting to the General Construction Manager, the System Construction Manager will monitor site progress, oversee material / equipment delivery, carry out safety checks and quickly sort out any problems which could hold the site works up.

He will also keep close contact with the Site Managers, and liaise with technicians, planners and subcontractors, as well as all stakeholders (customer &consultants).

What are my responsibilities?

  • To lead and guide the Signaling, Telecommunications and Power Supply Systems Installation, Testing and Commissioning with regard to working methodology, personnel deployment, construction site and systems integration processes and material procurement at our railway projects lines.
  • To bundle the installation and commissioning activities and to apply common synergies for all fronts as far as possible.
  • To Ensure compliance with Code of Ethics
  • To work in cooperation and coordination with the sub-Project Managers (SIG, PWS, TLC)
  • Your area of responsibility also includes managing the internal site workers and coordinating the sub-contractors, also assuming project functional representation at site meetings for systems interfaces
  • You ensure the correct and timely site progress tracking as well as information feedback (lessons learnt) using standardized reporting tools
  • It is your responsibility to comply with standards, regulations, quality guidelines and safety regulations
  • Supervising and overseeing project progress direction, ensuring that the customer’s specifications and requirements are met, reviewing the status and liaising with the construction manager to monitor costs.
  • Coordinating and supervising site managers, and supporting commercial management, also petty cash
  • Making safety inspections and ensuring construction and site safety as well as site access control.
  • Ensure EHS standards implementation at each installation, testing and commissioning phases.
  • Provides input to technical lead on schedules and cost estimates for the system related erection / work.
  • To assist the Contract & Claim Manager, the General Construction Manager and the Project Management, by supporting and reporting all changes and variations occurred on site
  • Site team plan and management of multiple involved teams (Signalling / Power Supply / Telecom).
  • What do I need to qualify for this job?

  • Highly experienced construction project manager with 10 years practical experience in international Business, Transportation sector or compatible.
  • Long experience with public governmental sectors.
  • Proven track record to get-things-done reliably, efficiently, under time pressure in a hostile environment.
  • Basic knowledge of contract and claim management
  • Experience in consortium contracts with several stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership skills within line organizations.
  • Deep knowledge of EHS & Quality requirements
  • Excellent computer skills, capability to express complex matters in clear and understandable language, excellent presentation and writing skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Financial basic knowledge.
  • Decision-making ability.
  • Good communication skills, effective as a team leader, decisive and persuasive, good in dealing with conflict situations, and well accepted by costumer as site responsible representative.
  • Extensive experience in Project Management, a team player, good with logistic and successful in identifying business opportunities, tender organization, project mobilization, commissioning management.
  • Overall system know-how, knowledge in system engineering, interface management, rail logistic know-how, list of responsibilities, contract, claims and risk management, deep knowledge in time scheduling.
  • Fluent English in reading and writing, translation of technical documentation and correspondences

  • Use all equipment provided safely and notifying local management of any observed deficiencies or defects as soon as they become apparent
  • Inform management or instruct / advise of any changes in materials, plant or processes and of any new material or process which become apparent in the course of work that may impact on safety or the environment
  • Immediately inform, instruct and / or advise of any observed hazards, injuries or dangerous occurrences, which become apparent during work
  • Stop work when instructed to do so and only resume or commence work when instructed it is safe to do so.
  • Report all safety and environmental incidents and accidents
