Purpose of the job
to schedule and on budget.
The position includes accountability for management of the Installation Engineers responsible for : Vehicle fitment delivery for the Innovia Monorail 300 onboard equipment for passenger and engineer’s vehicles as well as ATC-Comm and all wayside equipment.
Handover finished sections of the works to the next stage of the project including vehicles completed with Innovia Monorail 300 onboard equipment and assist with the management of warranty and the maintenance contract.
Follow the project reporting cycles and prepare reports for Project Director with appropriate and timely action plans in place to address any existing or emerging issues
Lead and direct a team of installation Engineers and Supervisory personnel
Manage and bring to conclusion any disciplinary action required for any infringement of site safety
Key responsibilities and challenges :
Maintain the key delivery objectives for the KAFD project and sub-contractors to implement and complete this project with zero (0) incidents
Set up a standardised agenda for the Working Groups based on agreed terms of reference for monitoring, managing risks, issues and mitigating them safely
Review and prepare where necessary the relevant mandatory site method statements for installation and assist in the preparation / review of the relevant test and commissioning plans and procedures
Follow the project report cycles and prepare reports for Project Director with appropriate and timely action plans in place to address any existing or emerging issues
Main responsible for the handover of the installed parts to the Test and Commissioning team
Co-ordinate the various installation supplier / s, installation related interfaces with the customer’s stake holders, manage site access, supervise installation, of the staged activities to completion during the entire project life-cycle
Co-ordinate the design and construction interface activities with Customer / Onboard Customer’s stakeholders, suppliers, civil contractors, utility agencies, statutory authorities, developers, consultants and other interfacing contractors
Co-ordination with onboard client for access to facilities / testing zones. Definition of procedure and methodology for requesting these accesses
Ensure compliance with the project occupational health, safety and environmental (OHSE) plan
Onsite and installation risk assessment and mitigation for each installation activity
Interface to Maximo
Ensure that the Installation Methods statements, Installation Instructions, Installation Test Plan (ITP) activities are conducted as scheduled, review the ITP reports for prompt closures of non-conformances
Ensure that staff competence is maintained and managed and that staff have undertaken the necessary training in relation to their role and attended any safety induction courses and briefings
Monitor progress against published programme and prepare the site reports.
Establish shift working timetable as required by the programme.
Attribute to any new bids in the project, with focus on Installation
A qualification in Installation Management is essential. General Line Management experience and team leadership is required.
Approximately 5-10 years’ experience in a similar role.
Rail industry knowledge is required
Experience of Line and Team Management is required.
Good problem-solving skills would be an advantage.
The candidate will have an impact with Site Manager, other ITC teams, Sub-contractors, other BTRCS Staff, Operational Staff and Customer Field Engineers as they will be the central coordination point for all site activities.
Length of time to assess less than one year.
Candidates will have strong communication and interpersonal skills as success in the role will require good relationship building with all interfaces and stakeholders.
Good writing skills will also be required as reports will need to be comprehensive and timely.
The role may require working from other Bombardier offices Riyadh region. The job will require night shift working.
