Job title : DEPUTY PROJECT MANAGER
POSITION OVERVIEW :
The Deputy Project Manager is responsible for assisting the Project Manager in managing a multi-disciplined team of Worley personnel and subcontractors on the El Dabaa nuclear project, where Worley acts as Owner’s Consultant.
The Deputy Project Manager provides direct interface with the Owner and assists in the training of Owner’s engineering and technical staff.
SPECIFIC TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages a multi-disciplinary team to ensure project is effectively and technically delivered to meet the timeline and budget
Responsible for providing the necessary management support to the project manager
Represents the project at internal & external meetings
Establishes resource requirements and sources the necessary resources for the project
Ensures systems and procedures are developed and rolled out for the project and work is performed in accordance with Worley internal processes and procedures
Ensures effective coordination between the various project disciplines
Ensures the project team is correctly reporting in each of the areas
Enforces inter-discipline reviews of deliverables, distributes deliverables on the project
Provides inputs to project management team
Reports on project scope performance against the baseline plan
Responsible for ensuring that all scope changes are agreed with the client prior to implementation through the execution of the project
Ensures that the project team and any 3rd party subcontractors adhere to the overall project execution plan and project quality plan
Ensures that all identified contractors are suitably pre-qualified for delivery of the project

PREFERRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE :
Bachelor degree or higher in Engineering is a must.
Strong technical skills; 10+ years of experience in engineering management and project management of large scale projects and management of multi-
discipline teams. Extensive nuclear power experience required.
Recognized as having a specialized depth or breadth of expertise
Excellent report writing skills
SKILLS / COMPETENCIES :
Ability to communicate, influence and persuade
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are essential
Sound engineering and project management background
Prudent use of confidential information
Organized and disciplined, capability to plan and schedule tasks and events
Ability to work and interact with multidiscipline teams
Awareness of project estimates and budgets
