TheAircraft Mechanic Iperform organizational and intermediate level maintenance on UC- aircraft. Is responsible for servicing, troubleshooting and repairing and modifying aircraft systems to ensure continued airworthiness.
These tasks are performed on avionics and electrical systems, environmental systems, engines, flight controls and airframe components.
Repairs are performed using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun, and drills.
Reads and interprets manufacturers’ and airline’s maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract)
Coordinate maintenance efforts to ensure the timely return of aircraft to mission capable status.
Know, understand and comply with the requirements outlined in the Life Cycle Contractor Support statement of work.
Review aircraft records for accuracy and completeness.
Provide on-the-job training for assigned personnel.
Participate in and enforce compliance with established FOD prevention, housekeeping, tool control, environmental and safety programs.
Follow technical data, manuals, regulations, and other maintenance directives as required.
Participates in towing and movement of aircraft in performing maintenance activities.
Ensure aircraft discrepancies are properly recorded and corrected in accordance with approved maintenance procedures and within the terms of the contract.
Know and understand the functions and requirements of the CAMP, WIS, CESSCOM computerized maintenance software.
Comply with FAA regulations as applicable.
Comply with written company maintenance and logistics procedures.
Perform aircraft recovery missions as necessary
Deploy to overseas locations with unit aircraft to support operational requirements.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills
An in-depth knowledge of the applicable aircraft.
A thorough working knowledge of applicable technical publication.
Ability to read and write and interpret technical data and special operating instructions.
Good verbal and written skills and leadership ability.
Experience & Education
High school diploma or equivalent.
Two () years flight line experience with specific experience on Navy UC- (Citation V ultra / Encore) aircraft preferred.
Possess a valid FAA Aircraft & Powerplant (A&P) license for a minimum of two () years and shows compliance with FAR ., recent experience requirements.
Be physically able to deploy with unit aircraft to overseas locations.
Obtain / maintain secret security clearance.
Valid Driver’s License.
Physical Requirements / Working Environment
May work in aircraft maintenance hangar or outside.
May be required to respond to a wide variety of operational circumstance, including extreme weather conditions.
Ability to work various shifts which may include evening and weekend hours.
Some travel may be required.
