The primary function of the role is to create and implement a strategy for business development and operations in line with overall cooperate, regional and local strategies and policies for the PROM business solution.

To develop profitable operations and to recruit, manage, motivate, and lead the PROM team as well as developers and / or sales from a base of existing customers whilst seeking new business opportunities.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • 1. SALES & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
  • Determines / co-operates in the determination of the business strategy and executes / secures its implementation
  • Acquires / supports the acquisition of new business and supports the account management
  • Promotes customer's relation and develops the existing client base
  • Directs / supports the business development process (tender analysis, solution design, costing, pricing and service offering)
  • Localize the global PROM products to meet local market expectations and requirements
  • Monitors market trends and competitor activity in order to identify new business opportunities (acquisition candidates, new services, business partners, etc.)
  • Liaison with Regional PROM Management regarding the administration of and upkeep of carriers contracts
  • Provide market and product related information as / when required
  • Carriers' & Suppliers' Management

  • Sets / manages carriers' & suppliers' (trucking, packaging, loading / off loading, engineering, etc..) strategy, including managing local carrier’s contacts, rates negotiations, and bilateral process in alignment to the framework of the global preferred carrier program & local National Seafreight & Airfreight Managers (i.e. CAI ZA & ZS)
  • Secures the continuity of regional or national carrier relationships
  • Evaluates home / regional carrier initiatives for local market requirements
  • 3. OPERATIONS EXCELLENCE

  • Ensures efficient PROM operations and continuously optimises the operations; and increases productivity by implementing standard processes in line with corporate guidelines and targets (such as Data Quality)
  • Co-operates in the development and implementation of business operation and reporting systems
  • Monitors and enforces Country regulatory compliance with regard to global trading conditions such as FMC, AMC etc.
  • 4. HUMAN RESOURCES

  • Selects, recruits and continuously reviews the performance of PROM staff
  • Promotes the development of talent and initiates business field specific training & development to ensure continuous improvement of staff skills levels
  • Build a second line of successors & develop them to be ready for future roles
  • 5. CONTROL OF FINANCIAL RESULT

  • Take full responsibility for the PROM Profit / Loss Statments and for the preparation, presentation and implementation of budget / targets
  • Responsible for the labour cost / control within his department
  • 6. SALES

  • Works closely with Sales Manager / Salesman or Own developers to develop existing business and facilitate the generation of new business for budget achievement
  • Provides product related information when required
  • Assists in key account implementation
  • Assists local sales in key account implementation including preparation of clients' SOPs
  • Participates occasionally in presentations to customers
  • 7. QSHE

  • Ensure all KN & PROM QSHE policies & guide lines are implemented
  • Ensure that all QSHE directives (incl. code of Conduct, Ethical Behaviour, FCPA etc.) are implemented and applied
  • Your skills and experience

  • Bachelors / First University Degree is minimum
  • Minimum 10 years of Project Management experience
  • International experience is preferred
  • 5-10 years of Leadership Experience
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Oil and Gas industry
  • 5-10 of experience in the Sea and Air Logistics industry
  • Advanced project management & directorship skills
  • Advanced negotiation skills
  • Excellent People Management & Leadership skills
  • Ability to build effective, credible client relationships & networks
  • Fluent in Arabic
  • Advanced knowledge of English language

    Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors / First University Degree is minimum
  • Minimum 10 years of Project Management experience
  • International experience is preferred
  • 5-10 years of Leadership Experience
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Oil and Gas industry
  • 5-10 of experience in the Sea and Air Logistics industry
  • Advanced project management & directorship skills
